What Batchstack collects
Creating an account stores your name, email address, an optional profile photo, and, for password accounts, a salted hash of your password (never the password itself). Signing in with Google shares your name, email, and profile photo from Google. Your course progress (which lessons you've completed) is stored with your account so it follows you across devices.
The Application Grader
Signed out, draft answers you type into the grader stay in your browser and are never sent anywhere. Running the grader requires an account. When you run it, your answers are sent to an AI service (OpenAI) to generate your feedback, and both the draft and the resulting reading are stored with your account so you can revise and run it again. They are visible only to you, and are deleted with your account.
Batchstack sends email only to verify your address when you create an account. Email is delivered through Resend, a transactional email provider. Your address is never sold or shared for advertising.
Cookies
One httpOnly session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Deleting your data
You can request deletion of your account and everything associated with it at any time by contacting the team; deletion is completed promptly and is not reversible.
