The short answer
YC has not yet published the next batch deadline. When a batch is unannounced, there is no honest date to give, and a guessed date is worse than none. YC runs four batches a year with fixed deadlines; check the source below and don't trust a made-up date.

How YC's batch calendar actually works
Y Combinator funds companies in four batches a year: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Each batch has a single fixed application deadline rather than rolling admissions.ycombinator.com/apply That structure matters for your planning: if you miss a batch's deadline, your application rolls to the next batch's cycle, which can mean waiting months.
One detail founders often miss: YC invests as soon as a company is accepted, and doesn't wait for the program to start.ycombinator.com/apply So the deadline you're racing isn't just an admissions gate; it's the front door to the funding timeline.
The timing strategy that actually helps
The best deadline strategy is boring on purpose: submit several days early. Applying early never counts against you, and it buys you the one thing last-minute applicants never have: time to fix problems. A broken demo link, a co-founder who needs to review an answer, an account issue at 11:52pm: all survivable with a buffer, all fatal at the buzzer.
The counter-move founders talk themselves into, "I'll keep polishing until the deadline", almost always trades a small quality gain for a large risk. A complete, honest application submitted two days early beats a slightly-better one you were still editing when the window closed.
The date is the easy part.
Knowing when it closes doesn't write the answers. Paste a draft into the free grader and get line-by-line feedback before the window does.
How to Make a Winning YC Application Video
Knowing the date is the easy part. Filling the application well is the work. The course's 13-video Written Application module walks every question so you're ready before the clock matters.
Don't let a date be your whole strategy
Plenty of founders obsess over the deadline and under-invest in the application itself. The date is a constraint, not a plan. Once you know when you're submitting, spend your remaining time where it moves the needle: the application, question by question, and, if you get the call, the interview questions and frameworks. If you've been rejected before, note that about half of every batch reapplied, so a past "no" is not a closed door: see reapplying after rejection.
